TOUR DESCRIPTION

The tour will start with an early Bangkok hotel pick up before the drive to Damnoen Saduak. On route to Damnoen Saduak we will make two stops, the first being the fascinating market at Mae Klong which sets up along a working railway line and then on to a small palm sugar manufacturing operation where you can see the sweet palm sugar being made from the flowers of the palm trees. On reaching Damnoen Saduak we will board a long tail boat for the trip to the market. The boat trip to the market will offer you the opportunity to see the quiet backwaters and canals around this area of Damnoen Saduak. At the vibrant floating market you can stroll up and down the canals edges taking in all the sites and sounds that this bustling waterborne market has to offer and if you really want to get amongst the action then take the option to jump into a paddle boat. Following the floating market we will proceed to Kanchanaburi where we will take lunch then see the famous River Kwai Bridge. We will pay a visit to the very informative Thailand Burma Railway Center where you can learn about the bridge and the construction of the death railway as well as the harsh conditions of the prisoners of war and local population who constructed this railway. A visit can also be made to the war cemetery opposite the museum home to the graves of some 9,000 POW's who died during the railways construction. Following a visit to the famous river Kwai Bridge the tour will finish when we drive back to Bangkok and transfer you to your Bangkok hotel.

TOUR DETAILS & FACTS

This tour is conducted as a privately escorted tour only. For a privately escorted tour you will be supplied with your own tour guide for yourself and your group of family or friends and will not join others.

For 1-2 persons transport will be a modern comfortable air conditioned car or minibus
For 3-14 persons transport will be a modern comfortable air conditioned minibus

This tour includes transfer to and from your Bangkok Hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation. Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure. For group tours transfers can be arranged for most city hotels for group tours transfers can not be arranged to some outlying hotels or hotels on the west side of the river. (for join in group tours we do recommend you have your hotel booked before proceeding with the booking in case there is an issue with your hotel) For private tours we can arrange transfers to and from all hotels (an extra charge will usually be incurred for outlying hotels). If there are any issues with your specified hotel we will inform you before we ask for payment and process your booking.

This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)

A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.


• The Bangkok climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire

• Please be prepared for the occasional shower, luckily in Bangkok rainfall is mostly confined to short showers rather than prolonged rainfall. A lightweight easily packable raincoat is an ideal precaution

• No swim wear is required on this tour

Exertion levels are light on this tour with a few short walks between attractions. There are steps and slopes as well as alighting to and from small boats.

Lunch is provided and included in the tour price

There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received.
